On Tuesday 13 November, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of a facility that not only has the potential to improve our lives, but those of our children and our grandchildren.
An incredible amount of hard work has gone into the development of the NSW Health Statewide Biobank.
In opening the celebration, Simon Cooper, Chief Operating Officer of the Biobank, thanked partners NSW Health, the Office for Health and Medical Research, NSW Health Pathology, Sydney Local Health District and Health Infrastructure “for having the vision to create a truly state-of-the-art facility.”
Simon continued, “this is really just the start of a long journey. Efforts continue to ensure we are creating a service that will continue to support high quality health and medical research for the people of NSW.”
It was such a great opportunity to join with our staff, as well as some of our first research collaborators and future partners to reflect on just how much we’ve achieved in our very first year. It was also an important opportunity to reflect on the incredible potential that lies ahead.
